I like this app! Thunderbird doesn't support getting the size of my school's account, so this is great!
One suggestion:
Could you somehow implement some sort of a filter, so that we can exclude a specific folder or folders from being checked.
For me the problem arises when IMAPSize checks the Public folders on the server. Our server is running MS Exchange, and there is one folder (with an incredible amount of subfolders) to which everyone has access. Because of the enourmous size it take a very long time to check the size. Also this folder is regularly updated by others, so the size constantly changes, hence the cache also changes.

Otherwise, great work and thanks for providing it free!
Peter

Thanks Peter,

This is indeed on my todo list. I was thinking more in line of optionally disabling checks of shared IMAP folders (which is exactly what you need), but I will see if I can additionaly somehow filter specific private folders too.

Great program, really! All I've used so far is the mbox2eml converter, but it looks great. It's a real pleasure to use this professionally written program.

I've been converting old Thunderbird archives back to Outlook Express. At this point I have about 100 *.mbx files remaining. Two program suggestions come to mind.

1. It would be convenient if the default output folder was the same as the input folder, instead of being the root directory. Alternately, if I change the output folder it would be nice to be able to save that change. (In my case I would either save to the input directory or save to a new, empty directory.)

2. Although the program allows multiple conversions, the conversion results all go into the same folder so the original sorting is lost. It would be a HUGE time saver if the program could create new subdirectories on-the-fly when converting multiple mbxes. In my situation, unless I want all e-mails combined into one folder I will be converting the 100 mbx files one by one.

Thanks again. I can't wait to try out the other features of your program.

Jon, eml files are generated in unique folders generated on the fly for each mbox file. Are you using 0.3.1 or some earlier version?

I just downloaded version 0.2.8. Should I be using the new beta?

I just checked the News link in the program and see that version 0.3.0 introduced hierarchial features. I'll get the 0.3.1 version and give it a try.

Excellent! THAT's what computers are for! It's cool to be able to take a break while the computer chugs away hard at work.
