|
|
I am following this article, http://www.labnol.org/software/delete-large-email-attachments-in-gmail/9564/
Everything works as described until I try to expunge a mailbox (after saving an attachment locally and then deleting attachment). It appears Expunge Mailbox doesn't do anything. In the mail account I see that a new copy of the message (without the attachment) has been created. But the original message also still remains. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! |

Yes me also.
Delete attachment, marks as deleted, but expunge appears to do nothing, end up with original and new message.
Thought it may be due to using English(UK) setting in gmail which renames Trash to Bin, but changing back to English(US) still gives same problem.
Work araound was to then "Delete & expunge" previous emails i had "Removed Attachment" from.

Dear all,
AS other users have notice expunge option doesn't seem to work. What Am I doing wrong? How can I delete the attachments while keeping the rest of the message from GMAIL.
All the best,

I am having the same issue. Using Google emails, when deleting attachment it creates the new email without the attachment but expunging does not remove the original.
Even when deleting an email completely and expunging it doesn't seem to do anything on the server.
I tried this on more than 1 account.
Thanks. |
