I'm using IMAPSize to make backup of my IMAP accounts, but when the backup is complete, the details shows some errors like this:
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050823_133956_223. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050823_134006_619. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050823_152644_3. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050823_152708_28. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050823_152710_61. Message NOT added to mbox!
First of all I tries to find out which messages this is and then the reason for the problem. It could be some problem with the headers of some of the messages causing this, but I don't know how to find out which messages that failes. Anyone have any idea? |

| This doesn't look like it is caused by invalid headers. What happens when you try to backup that folder again (backups are incremental so the second run should be fairly fast)? Are these 5 files the only ones that generate an error? Are the temporary message files still located in the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\ folder? If they are there, what happens when you try to open any one of the erroraneous messages in a text editor (notepad)? |

I tried to run the backup again yesterday, and then it failed on the same files.
But when I run the backup today, i got this errors:
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050824_082418_223. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050824_082429_619. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050824_083114_3. Message NOT added to mbox!
ERROR: Can't open file C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ImapSize\temp\20050824_083126_26. Message NOT added to mbox!
Please note that this errors is from two different IMAP account. The two first line is from one of them, and the two last from another one. The same in my first post. The first two from the first one, and the three others from the other account.
The files are not located in the temp folder. The temp folder is empty.
On the first account, it seems like the filename ends with 223 and 619 both today and yesterday. Is this some kind of message numbers?
But on the other account it seems to end with different numbers. |

Those are temporary files used internally by IMAPSize during the backup process, which have the current timestamp as the filename, so every time you run the backup the filenames should be different. The last 3 digits are milliseconds.
I'm currently on holidays so I can't check the source to track the problem deeper, I'll be back next week when I'll try to reproduce this and fix it. |

Thanks, that would be great.
Another great feature would be that IMAPSize report which message it failed on instead of just the temp filename and "Message NOT added to mbox".
Then the user could know which message that was not added. |
