Yes, since [tag]...[/tag] gets expanded into a link, it conflicts with your link. You should use it the other way round, so instead of
| Code: | | [tag]<a href="example">Example</a>[/tag] |
use
| Code: | | <a href="example">[tag]Example[/tag]</a> |
