SimpleTags - A WordPress plugin for generating Technorati tags

The SimpleTags plugin is my first WordPress plugin. It was something I desperately needed and since I couldn’t find a plugin that would fully suit my needs I wrote this one. I hope someone else finds it useful too.
SimpleTags is a WordPress plugin that will allow you to easily generate Technorati tags at the bottom of your blog entries, like the ones below this post. There are several plugins already available for this purpose, but AFAIK, they all require you to use custom fields within WordPress. The SimpleTags plugin eliminates this need, so you can now easily generate tags with your preferred method of posting, be it by email, a blogging tool like w.bloggar or from WordPress itself.

One silly question: how to display the TAG in strong font? Where should I put the <strong> and </strong> code?

You can modify the pre_replacement and post_replacement variables to something like this:
$pre_replacement = ‘<strong>Technorati Tags: ‘;
$post_replacement = ‘</strong>’;

I’m using your plugn and it is making technorati tags, but it is DOUBLING the text I put in between teh tags. You can visit this test post to see this in action.

At the bottom it has the tags repeated twice, one with no links, one with links even though they are in my actual post only once. Any help?

Your site seems to be down so I can’t check it. How exactly are you specifying the tags? Tags within the text should be placed within <tag> </tag> (no “s” at the end) and any additional tags at the end should be placed within <tags> </tags> (with an “s” at the end).

Can you please make sure that you are using the correct tags as described on http://www.broobles.com/scripts/simpletags/
If that doesn’t help, try downloading and installing the plugin again just to ensure that you are starting clean. If it doesn’t help, please use the forum at http://www.broobles.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3 to report the problems you find.

thanks for a simple yet effective plugin. when i was still using blogger i needed firefox, greasemonkey and magicalsheep user script to achieve what you’ve done in one plugin. the installation was a breeze!

People just don’t like to write comments, they like to read posts therefore there is no need to fake posts.
