Hi. I've been using 230mb.com. It is a brand new web host and their offers seems to be balanced. (5GB of disk space, 250GB of monthly transfer, 20 MySQL Db hosted in the same server with my defined user names, 20 ftp accounts which i can create, they have one click installer (i think it is fantastico) that supports wordpress, joomla, PHPBB3 and many others. It just less than $35 a year. What do you think about this 230mb web host offer?

Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"The guys at DoorHost rarely sleep (or so it seems) and are always lurking around their friendly forum, helping out people with both serious and naive problems, even those that they don’t really have to deal with. Eric, the founder of DoorHost, is a guru in his field and has always been able to provide a solution to any problems I had. It is fantastic to have confidence in people running a service and a peace of mind knowing that everything is running smoothly and that if it doesn’t, someone will do everything in their power to fix the issue as quickly as possible."

I like how you explained that. Very helpful. Thanks.

FavHost is very reliable and has 24/7 support & failover protection for guarenteed uptime. Our servers are located in the Softlayer Datacenter in Dallas Texas.

If you'd like to try us and blog us, I could probably setup a free account for your website. I would need to know storage and bandwidth stats however.

It turns out that Doorhost was a glamorous hobby that Eric eventually dropped. He's now operating a local hosting company in rural Northeast Wisconsin, and Doorhost is operated by a faceless Chicago company that provides practically no support and unreliable hosting service. In web hosting, "too good to be true" is just that; in Doorhost's case it was that Eric couldn't sustain his commitment. Or wouldn't. Definitely a host, and a businessman, to avoid.

Well, Eric has sold Doorhost and since then it's no longer the fantastic place it used to be. Don't even think of getting an account now...

Almost a year later. Doorhost has been going through some heavy problems in the last few weeks. Avoid this host, for the moment at least.
